20 weeks and counting

Jared and I went in today for our 20 week appointment.  We had an ultrasound and the tech checked Lil' Jones to make sure everything looked good...and it did!!!  We are so excited to have a healthy little boy.  It was amazing to see how much he has grown in just a few weeks.  We were able to see him drinking and playing with his little man-parts...such a boy already! 

the secret's out

I finally let my kiddos in on the baby secret today at school.  Many of them already knew I was expecting but, had been good about keeping it a secret.  Since the teacher next door is also pregnant (with twins!) the kids definitely heard some baby talk going on anyways.  I decided to go ahead and let them know at the end of the day and they were SO excited.  When they found out I was having a boy they all decided to suggest some names...

Charlie Brown

Maxine...no it's a boy so it has to be Max!

Jake

Justin Bieber

and the list goes on...

We will see if any of these suggestions work out but it's not looking too good.  Very cute though!  I am sure I will be hearing quite a bit more advice and funny comments in the future from my little ones.  Can't wait! 

it's coming along

Jared and I got so much done for the nursery this weekend.  This weekend we hit up some stores to find alphabet letters for the alphabet wall.  We find 11 letters on Saturday and then cheated by order the other letters from www.CraftCuts.com.  We were able to pick out different fonts, heights, and thicknesses for each letter.  Amazing!!!

We also found an adorable clock that we are going to use in the nursery.  The colors are great and it will look amazing above the crib.  Jared wasn't too keen on the clock at first so we didn't get it but, we went back and picked it up before we headed home.  Absolutely LOVE IT!!!

I was out and about today looking for some other items for the room and also found a couple online.  Let me know what you think...

It seems these days that EVERYTHING is changing!  Starting off with my belly that seems to be getting bigger everyday.  I can't keep my hands off my growing belly.  It is so neat to know that our little boy is growing and changing daily, too.  I can't wait to see him again in the next couple of weeks.  We also got our bedding in the other day...so cute!  I am super excited to start decorating his room.  And, what perfect timing...I have Monday off to get started!  So fun!

It is crazy to think about how much our lives are going to change when the little one arrives.  Lately, I have been thinking about the things we won't be able to do as much anymore and how many changes we are going to have to make in our routine.  We are going to be PARENTS!!!  I have been feeling so many emotions and all these thoughts keep on running through my mind...I'm sure the hormones play a part in it all, too.  I can't wait for everything that is to come but, I still worry about how I will be as a mom.  I'm pretty sure it's just a fear of the unknown.  I've been praying constantly and I know that God will be here to guide Jared and I through this new stage in our lives.  He always is!!!    

what a wonderful weekend!

I cannot believe that the weekend is already over!  The weather was absolutely beautiful and we had such an amazing weekend.  I must say it started out better for me than Jared though.  On Friday, a few ladies from church and I went out to Gloria's in Colleyville for Girls' Night.  So much fun and delicious, too.  It was really nice to hang out and talk with wonderful women that I don't get to see very much anymore.  I feel a little more prepared about what's to come with our little boy after talking to people who have been through it all before. 

On Saturday, Jared and I were able to enjoy the wonderful weather while doing a little shopping in Dallas with my family.  It was fun hanging out and especially nice having the energy to go walking around shopping all day!  We were able to stop at Ikea and get the shelving I wanted for the nursery. 

It's so nice to see everything start to come together.  I am hoping that the bedding comes in today or tomorrow.  I cannot wait to see it in peron!

I am so excited to not only have an item checked off my baby to-do list but, that I found the perfect bedding for our little boy!  I wanted to get a bedding set that had a lot of color so that I am able to mix and match accessories and this is it.  It is so colorful but not too overwhelming!  I added a picture below and will keep you updated on any new nursery information!

Jared and I went to the doctor today to find out the gender of Lil' Jones.  I drank a little Dr. Pepper before our appointment like my friend, Melissa, suggested in hopes to get Lil' Jones moving (and uncrossing it's legs).  Well, it worked because the ultrasound went great and the tech is 100% sure we are having a...

We are SO excited and can't wait to start getting ready for our little man!  Be on the lookout for nursery and other fun updates!  Let the preparations begin...

I feel the need to share some baby updates.  Jared was able to get some work done over the week and he finished the nursery floors!  SO EXCITING!!!  Below is a wonderful update with pictures.  Enjoy!!!

We decided that we are going to put the nursery in the larger room and the twin bed in the smaller one.  It makes me so excited to see things coming together.

Next step...set up the furniture!!

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

After being stuck in the house for a whole week, we finally got actual SNOW!!!  It looks so beautiful on the ground compared to the disgusting ice we have seen all week.  This morning, Titan, Bridgette and I went out early to enjoy the snow!  Titan ran back into the house as fast as he could but, Bridgette and I played a little bit.  She loves to play ready, set, go any chance she can get.

Hopefully, we'll get lucky and be able to get out of the house tomorrow.  Our nursery furniture is in so hopefully we'll be heading to Babies-R-Us tomorrow! 

Cabin Fever...

I never thought that I would complain about having 6 day weekend but, I am.  After 3 snow days and not being about to get out of the house, I have gone CRAZY!  One good thing about being home for 3 days straight is that I have been able to do a lot of baby research.  I have started a little "Baby Wish List" with all of the big items we are going to buy or register for. 

More Important Baby News...

I am really excited to say that I have officially felt the baby move!  It is absolutely amazing!  It just felt like a little flutter and it was the sweetest feeling ever.  We had our 16 week appointment this past Monday and everything went well.  The doctor did an ultrasound but the little stinker had it's legs crossed so we don't know the gender yet.  We go back this coming up Monday to try again...hopefully we'll have more luck this time!  Stay safe and warm out there!
